The site of this project is Hong Lim park where the location is near among Raffless Place, Clarke Quay, and Chinatown district. Hong lim Park is one of the concrete example of the open public space in Singapore that become unused space because the park is not design fully potential and under-utilised. Typically the public space design is only fill with greeneries as visual pleasing. New proposal design come with injection of new different programmes according urban culture, activities, and existing function that suit specific target market through social collective experience. The design intention is to bring vibrancy and value into the park.Type of people who use the site are office worker, tourist and locals. One of the main new function of the park is food centre. There is a need of semi-open space where office workers could enjoy their break time outside of high rise building. Secondary Function are Outdoor Cinema, museum, and community club. The semi-open structure create easy accessible from different direction. It also help better air circulation and natural light to go in. The existing and new programmes have flexibility to adapt according to different time. Integration of different programmes could keep the vibrancy of the park all the time. The structure of extension building is purposely designed naturally inviting and become the passage way and connector toward any different direction.
